Akron Art Museum and MOCA Cleveland Partner to Present Mark Mothersbaugh: Myopia


August 19, 2015 — The Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland and The Akron Art Museum are pleased to announce a joint presentation of Mark Mothersbaugh: Myopia. The exhibition, organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, is a career-spanning travelling retrospective of the Akron native’s work, which will be on view across both venues from May 27 through August 28, 2016. By visiting the complementary exhibitions in Cleveland and Akron, audiences will get a wide-ranging perspective of Mothersbaugh’s prolific output of artwork, music, ideas, restless invention, and distinctive sense of humor.

Ward 5 Fest - three days of music and worship begins today

Say, do you live in Akron's Ward 5?

Neither do I, but dagnabbit if Councilwoman Tara Mosley Samples (presumably of Ward 5) and her crew haven't put together in inviting weekend of activities including a concert by R&B crooner Case, local gospel star Jennifer Mekel, the University of Akron Gospel Choir and more along with some outdoor church..

It's all happening  at The Mason Community Center Field this weekend

Little Big Town cancels concert at Medina County Fair due to surgery

Sorry, LBT fans, the band ain't gonna make it due to singer Jimi Westbrook recently repaired vocal chords.

After briefly suggesting they could find a suitable replacement that would allow them not to refund ticketholders' money, Fair officials have come to their senses.
