Chance the Rapper coming to Blossom on May 19

By Malcolm Abram Published: February 14, 2017

Newly annointed Indie Rap God and multi-Grammy winner Chance the Rapper will be bringing the award winning music from his three mixtapes 10 Day, Acid Rap and Coloring Book and his unyielding onstage positivity to Blossom Music Center on Friday, May 19.

Fresh off his BET Awards win for Best Mixtape and his three Grammys, his much-talked acceptance speeches and performance with Kirk Franklin, The Chicago emcee is hitting the road. Chance's aherence to remaining an independence artist (he has eschewed record labels and his mixtapes are stream only) forced the Grammys folks to open up their rules and come to him, making him the first artist to win Grammys with a stream-only album. No details on ticket prices or tour mates but here comes Chance the Rapper.

Tickets for the Blossom show go onsale at 7 p.m. today, Valentine's day, Tueday, Feb. 14 at Ticketmaster.com

U2 Coming to Browns Stadium in July

By Malcolm Abram Published: January 9, 2017

2017 marks the 30th(!!) anniversary of U2's breakthrough/watershed/etc.. album THE JOSHUA TREE.

To celebrate The Joshua Tree (and to heartily shake The Money Tree) U2's going on tour and they're coming to Cleveland!

U2 IS COMING TO CLEVELAND IN JULY!
30 years of JOSHUA TREE

Live Nation today announced that U2 will return to select stadiums this year with U2: The Joshua Tree Tour 2017, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the band’s classic album. Each show will include a performance of The Joshua Tree in its entirety, with support from one of a number of  special guests including Mumford & Sons, OneRepublic and The Lumineers in North America and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds in Europe.

U2’s fifth studio album The Joshua Tree was produced by Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois, and featured iconic artwork which cemented the career of photographer and director Anton Corbijn. Recording took place in Dublin at Windmill Lane Studios and Danesmoate, the house which subsequently became bassist Adam Clayton’s home.

“It seems like we have come full circle from when The Joshua Tree songs were originally written, with global upheaval, extreme right wing politics and some fundamental human rights at risk. To celebrate the album – as the songs seem so relevant and prescient of these times too - we decided to do these shows, it feels right for now. We’re looking forward to it.” – The Edge
