The Columbus Dispatch reports that Anheuser-Busch InBev is upset with a brewery bill that bans large brewers from owning distributors in Ohio. The bill was approved by state lawmakers last week and is awaiting Gov. John Kasich's signature.
The newspaper reports that Kasich will meet with Anheuser-Busch officials today before deciding to sign or veto the bill, which also includes a provision to create a new liquor permit that will reduce the cost of an annual brewing license for craft brewers from $3,906 to $1,000. Anheuser-Busch's objections could potentially scuttle the legislation that is supported by the craft beer industry.
