Ohio State and Michigan don't battle on the football field until Nov. 24, but a Granville bar is holding a special Ohio vs. Michigan craft beer tasting from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 10.
Brews Cafe is sponsoring the event, which will feature five brewers from Ohio going against five brewers from Michigan. Beer drinkers will be able to vote on their favorite. Ohio will be represented by Rockmill, Columbus, Thirsty Dog, Barley's and Fat Head's. Meanwhile, Jolly Pumpkin, Dark Horse, Founders, Bell's and New Holland will represent Michigan.
Brews Cafe owner Jerry Martin said the breweries match up pretty well. He's holding the tasting because he thought it'd be fun to extend the football rivalry to craft beer. He considered holding the tasting on the OSU-Michigan game day but then figured that people would be too engrossed in the game to sample beer.
The cost is $35 per person and includes 14 samples, a tasting glass, appetizers and live music starting at 10 p.m. For tickets, call 740-587-0249.
