Barley's Brewing Co. and Barley's Smokehouse & Brewpub -- both located in Columbus -- have just tapped some new beers. (For those not familiar with Barley's, they are two distinct brewpubs with two separate brewing systems, and separate beer and restaurant menus.) The new Barley's Infinity Grand Cru is available at Barley's Brewing. It's a Belgian-style dark strong ale. "I think it's one of the best beers we've ever brewed in our almost two decades of existence," owner Lenny Kolada said in an email. The brewpub even did a rare bottling. Two bottles were given to longtime general manager Jason Fabian and his wife who got married this month. At Barley's Smokehouse, they celebrated their 500th batch by making Barley's Galaxy 500 Belgian IPA. Kolada said they had to scour the country to find enough Galaxy hops, which are from Australia, to make the beer. Barley's Smokehouse also has added Barley's Platimum Blonde, a summer kolsch. Business is good, Kolada reports. "We're on pace for a record year at both locations," he said.
