Fat Julian Imperial Stout is getting some national exposure. Beer Advocate magazine highlights the label for Actual Brewing Co.'s big chocolate stout in its latest issue as part of the regular "Label Approval" feature.
The label (shown above) shows a woman hoisting an elephant, with a fat housecat weighing down the pachyderm. "This bittersweet imperial stout is reminiscent of leathery elephants dipped in dark chocolate," the label says.
"It's about brute strength," Mira Lee, co-founder of the Columbus brewery, told the magazine about the design. "It's such a huge, heavy, chocolaty stout, it barely fits in the mash tun, so it's the perfect foil for talking about big challenges and the rewarding aspects of hard work."
