"From birdhouses to belts and wallets, there is a little something fun and useful for everyone and along the way we'll be stocking up on our craft supplies by sampling some of Cincinnati's finest brews," Bowman said in an email.
The events are:
-- Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Christian Moerlein Tap Room on Moore Street: She will be creating bottle label wallets and jewelry from caps. Bombshells of Cincinnati also will do some "yarn bombing" with beer cans.
-- Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. at the Cincinnati Arts Center: She will make tiaras, beer can lanterns, jewelry and a birdhouse or two. MadTree Brewing Co. is donating can for the event.
"Along with the making, I’ll be giving a highly embellished talk about 'crafting on the fringe' and the unique crossovers between the explosive popularity of the craft beer movement and influences of folk art," she said.
Seating is limited. Advanced tickets can be purchased from the CAC store at 513-345-8400. Tickets are $8 for non-members and $5 for members.
-- Aug. 26 at 8:30 p.m.: An After Party at Arnold's Bar and Grill with more crafting. "This time pull tab bracelets and maybe even a belt or two for my very ambitious friends," Bowman said. "We'll make our final toasts and wander home be-jeweled in our new beer crafted finery."
