Black Cloister Brewing Co. will hold a special tapping at 6 p.m. April 28 for Queen Beer -- a beer made by female brewers as part of the Pink Boots Society's Big Boots Brew held on International Women's Day.
Queen Bee, which will be available only at the Toledo brewery, is a honey wheat lager made with 100 pounds of local honey.
"The sweetness of the honey is nicely balanced by the malt and Noble hops used in this limited release," the brewery said in a release.
Head brewer Shannon Fink and assistant brewer Mo Cherry made the beer with four female guest brewers.
Black Cloister will donate a portion of the profits to the Pink Boots Society, which helps women in the brewing industry. One of the guest brewers, Stacy Jurich, has already launched a career with Boochy Mama’s Kombucha. She will have a special pink kombucha on tap with all the profits being donated to the Pink Boots Society.
