The Brew Mentor will start distributing its draft beer to bars and restaurants by the end of the year.
The nanobrewery, tasting room and homebrewing/wine-making shop, located in a shopping plaza along Mentor Avenue in Mentor, was approached after participating in a local tasting event earlier this year and decided to distribute its beers, co-owner Brian Seelinger said.
“We’ve had some really nice response,” he said.
The Brew Mentor has been in business for three years and expanded into beer-making earlier this year with a 30-gallon Ruby Street brewhouse. The brewery has a small bar near the back of the business where people can sample their beers.
During a recent visit, there were six brews available: Headlands Blonde Ale, Plaza Pale Ale, Cardinal Red Ale, James ipA Garfield, Lakeshore Porter and Route 2 Stout. All the names have links to the local community.
“The red is our most popular beer,” Seelinger said.
