Brewers to release Cincinnati Beer Week Barleywine Ale
Cincinnati Beer Week Barleywine Ale -- a special collaborative brew made by six Cincinnati-area brewers -- will be released during a special tapping party at 6 p.m. Thursday at Rock Bottom Brewery in downtown Cincinnati. Rock Bottom brewer Mitchell Dougherty will make a few remarks to commemorate the first pour. The event will include live music by Used-Tacoulds, with Rock Bottom assistant brewer Luke Cole on the harmonica. The beer will be available on draft exclusively that night and six-packs should be hitting stores by the weekend. "We're anticipating an unprecedented turnout," Patrick Ian Clark of Mt. Carmel Brewing Co. said in an email. The beer was made at Mt. Carmel with brewers from Mt. Carmel, Christian Moerlein, Listermann, Red Ear, Rivertown and Rock Bottom working together. You can view a short video of the bottling process by clicking here. Cincinnati Beer Week is Feb. 2-9.
