Anheuser-Busch InBev donated $2.5 million Wednesday to the Folds of Honor Foundation as part of its Budweiser Walk-off a Hero program. The company donated $5,000 for each walk-off win during Major League Baseball's regular season. There were 205 walk-off wins. Budweiser also contributed a portion of sales from May 20 through July 7 to the nonprofit, which provides educational scholarships to families of fallen or injured soldiers.
“Walk-offs are one of the most exciting ways to win in baseball,” Rob McCarthy, vice president of Budweiser at Anheuser-Busch, said in a prepared statement. “Knowing that each walk-off this season will help support and honor our wounded or fallen heroes and their families made each walk-off even more exciting and meaningful.”
