Chipotle Mexican Grill announced a partnership this week with Great Lakes Brewing Co. to offer the brewery’s flagship lager, Dortmunder Gold Lager, for sale at 44 of its restaurants throughout Northeast Ohio.
“We are always finding new opportunities to challenge the way people think about fast food,” Jennifer Craig, Cleveland marketing strategist for Chipotle, said in a prepared statement. “We’re so excited to work with Great Lakes Brewing Co. and enhance the dining experience of our loyal customers by adding Dortmunder Gold to the menu.”
The company said the partnership is a natural fit and demonstrates both companies’ commitments to offering locally sourced, high-quality ingredients.
“When Great Lakes Brewing Company opened in 1988, Pat and Dan Conway’s early commitments to sustainable practices, supporting local farmers and serving the freshest beer and food possible were virtually unmatched in Cleveland,” Great Lakes spokeswoman Marissa DeSantis said in a prepared statement. “We hold these same values close to this day, so we’re thrilled that we have the opportunity to partner with a true leader when it comes to responsible sourcing and local food initiatives.”
