Christian Moerlein releases English Summer Ale
Christian Moerlein Brewing Co. will tap a limited edition English Summer Ale at 6 p.m. Tuesday at The Lackman in Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. Brewmaster Michael Carver will be at the event to talk about the beer and Christian Moerlein. The beer is made with all English pale malt, and a combination of Centennial, Fuggle and East Kent Goldings hops. "The finish is crisp and dry, quenching the thirst on a hot summer day," according to an email from the brewery. Christian Moerlein also will have a Moerlein Lagers & Ales Biergarten at the inaugural Queen City Sausage Festival, which takes place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Riverfront Levee in Newport, Ky. Admission to the festival is free.
