Cincinnati Beer Week kicks off Thursday (Feb. 6). The eight-day celebration includes more than 150 special beer releases, beer dinners, fundraisers, tours and tastings.
Cincinnati-area brewers also got together to create a collaboration brew for the event. Hostivit, brewed at the Christian Moerlein production brewery in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, is an imperial pilsner, clocking in at 7.3 percent alcohol by volume.
Need a rundown of special events? Mike Stuart of The Brew Professor blog offers up a nice list of "Can't Miss Events." You can also find more info at The Ohio Beercast, which has an audio interview with the president of Cincinnati Beer Week.
And just as Cincinnati Beer Week concludes, the Cincy Winter Beerfest begins its two-day run (Feb. 14-15) at the Duke Energy Convention Center downtown.
