Columbus Brewing is boosting its presence in the Cleveland market thanks to a recent expansion. The brewery added five 60-barrel fermenters and a 60-barrel bright tank in October, increasing its annual capacity to about 13,000 barrels.
"We’re on the verge of doubling or tripling the amount of beer we’re sending to Cleveland," owner and brewmaster Eric Bean said. "You'll see a lot more of Columbus up there over the next several weeks."
Even with the expansion, the brewery is at capacity. Being at capacity is better than the alternative, Bean said with a laugh.
In other Columbus news, Bean is shopping around for a bigger location. The brewery is located in the city's Brewery District neighborhood and is attached to the Columbus Brewing restaurant, which is a separately owned and operated entity.
