The Dayton Daily News reports that Brauhaus Riegele, a Germany brewery that dates to 1386, will make its U.S. debut in mid-August in two cities: New York and Dayton. David Klass, president of the Dayton Home Builders Association, teamed up with an importer in New York City and Cavalier Distributing to bring the beer here, the newspaper says.
Brauhaus Riegele happens to be in Dayton's sister city of Augsburg.
The four beers are: Privat Commerzienrat, Kellerbier, Alte Weisse and Augustus, the newspaper says. They will be served on draft at Chappy's in Moraine, Archer's Tavern in Centerville, South Park Tavern in Dayton and The Pub at The Greene in Beavercreek. Bottles should arrive by the end of the year.
