UPDATED: The new Fat Head's Brewery in Middleburg Heights has fired up production and is releasing its award-winning Head Hunter IPA on draft and in bottles in Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
Fat Head's, which has a brewpub in North Olmsted, built a separate production brewery because of customer demand. In a news release issued today, the brewery said it also plans to release Sunshine Daydream Session IPA, Bumble Berry Ale, Güdenhoppy Pilsner and other ales, lagers, Belgian-style ales, seasonal brews and some barrel aged beers.
The production facility has the capacity to produce 12,000 barrels annually. "We've been working hard the last month," brewer and co-owner Matt Cole said. "Everything was pre-sold. That's really exciting for us."
Rick Kennedy, state sales manager for Cavalier Distributing, said Fat Head's draft beer will roll out throughout Ohio next week. As for specific bars/restaurants where Fat Head's will be available, he mentioned 101 Bottles in Kent, Rail in Fairlawn, Melt in Cleveland, Tremont Taphouse in Cleveland, Lizardville in Bedford Heights, Bodega in Columbus, Yellow Brick Pizza in Columbus, The Trolley Stop in Dayton, Chappy's Tap Room & Grille in Dayton, Cock & Bull in Cincinnati and "the other usual suspects."
Bottles will follow in a few weeks or a month, Kennedy said.
