Fat Head's Brewery is offering beer drinkers a chance to get an early taste of its gold-medal winning Hop JuJu Imperial IPA. The beer, which won the award at last year's Great American Beer Festival, is being released in bottles for the first time this year.
It hits retailers throughout Ohio and western Pennsylvania on a limited basis on Feb. 21, but it will be available starting Thursday (Feb. 13) at the production brewery in Middleburg Heights. It will be sold in a four-pack for $12.99.
Hop JuJu bested 148 other beers to win its gold medal.
"For us, brewing this supernatural beer with a 'reckless use of hops' is a labor of love (with just a little witchcraft) and now we've bottled it up for you to enjoy ...," the brewery said in a news release. "This love potion has a powerhouse of hops and clocks in at 9 percent alcohol by volume with 100 IBU. With big aromas and flavors of citrus, pine and tropical fruits, you'll fall head over heels in love, just in time for Valentine's Day."
