The second annual Fifty Fest, a beer tasting and music festival at Fifty West Brewing Co. in Cincinnati, returns Sept. 6. The event, which is free to attend, kicks off at noon and runs until midnight.
The festival will showcase 11 breweries: Fifty West, Blank Slate, MadTree, Triple Digit, Listermann, Mt. Carmel, Rhinegeist, Christian Moerlein, Seventh Son, Jackie O's and Yellow Springs.
In addition to beers being poured all day, a special beer will be released each hour from 1 to 9 p.m. (See poster below for the full list.)
“The beer at Fifty Fest isn’t your everyday craft beer selection," Fifty West assistant brewer Max Fram said today (Aug. 29) in a news release. "We requested special releases or barrel-aged brews from each participating brewery. In addition, we will be releasing three of our own specialty beers: an Oak Barrel-Aged Belgian Style Tripel called Our Mom’s Advice, a one-year bourbon barrel-aged barley wine called 10&2, and an unreleased imperial stout called Death Valley Shootout Stout."
Meanwhile, there also will be eight bands performing on two stages.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Specialty Ohio Brews Pouring and Eight Bands Performing at Second Annual Fifty Fest
CINCINNATI (August 28, 2014)—Saturday, September 6, marks Fifty West Brewing Company’s second annual Fifty Fest. The festival kicks off at noon at Fifty West (7668 Wooster Pike) and features eight bands and beer taps from eleven Ohio breweries.
The breweries include: Fifty West, Blank Slate, Madtree, Triple Digit, Listermann, Mt. Carmel, Rhinegeist, and Moerlein from Cincinnati, Seventh Son from Columbus, Jackie O’s from Athens, and Yellow Springs Brewery.
“The beer at Fifty Fest isn’t your everyday craft beer selection, we requested special releases or barrel-aged brews from each participating brewery. In addition, we will be releasing three of our own specialty beers: an Oak Barrel-Aged Belgian Style Tripel called “Our Mom’s Advice,” a one-year Bourbon Barrel-Aged Barley Wine called “10&2,” and an unreleased Imperial Stout called Death Valley Shootout Stout,” said Max Fram, Assistant Brewer at Fifty West Brewing Company.
The Fifty Fest live music will be hosted on a larger scale than in the past, with a stage added to the Fifty West parking lot. A second stage will be located at the Heritage Tastings at the Cottage, the co-host of Fifty Fest. The band lineup includes: The Cliftones, Deep Fried Five, Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle, Lagniappe, The Qtet, Red Meets Green, NKU Latin Jazz Ensemble, and The Touchables.
“Our band lineup last year was amazing but this years lineup knocks it out of the park. The Cliftones have a huge following, their music on the big stage is a reason to come out in itself,” said Jody Steiner, who regularly books artists at Fifty West.
Food will be plenty at Fifty Fest. Vendors include Pizzelii Pizza, Dutch’s Larder, and Eli’s Barbeque. Specialty desserts will also be available from Grateful Grahams, artisanal goods from The Wisdom Tree, and Fifty West merchandise including a new tie-dye shirt.
Four clearly marked auxiliary lots on Wooster Pike will be available for parking. In addition, Lyft is providing a Fifty Fest promo code (50FEST14), giving first time users a $20 ride credit.
The event will take place on the grounds of the old Heritage Restaurant, now occupied by Fifty West Brewing Company and Heritage Tastings at the Cottage.
