Fifty West Brewing Co. and Great Lakes Brewing Co. will release their new collaboration beer called An Ale of Two Cities on Saturday (Nov. 16) during the Great Ohio Brew and 'Que at Fifty West in Cincinnati.
The event, being held from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., is sold out, but the beer, a smoked amber, will be available later at the Fifty West taproom and at select accounts around Cincinnati for special events.
"We chose to do a smoked amber in the spirit of trying to create a beer that will pair well with the BBQ that the two executive chefs came up with," Fifty West's Whit Hesser said in an email. "It's easy drinking with subtly smoky notes and finishes slightly sweet. ABV is right around 5.5 percent."
Asked why Fifty West collaborated with Great Lakes, Hesser said: "Because they are awesome. ... Duh, Rick."
Some tickets may be available to Saturday's event if there are cancellations, he added.
