The 30th annual Great American Beer Festival kicks off Sept. 29 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. It's considered the premier beer festival and competition in the United States. The three-day event will feature 2,400 different U.S. beers from 465 breweries, including many from Ohio. Five Ohio breweries won medals at the prestigious event last year: Hoppin' Frog Brewery in Akron, Fat Head's Brewery & Saloon in North Olmsted, Weasel Boy Brewing Co. in Zanesville, The Brew Kettle in Strongsville and Columbus Brewing Co. in Columbus. The entire event is sold out. I am trying to line up some Ohio brewers and attendees to provide live updates from the festival.
