Great Black Swamp partners with Glass City Marathon
Great Black Swamp Brewing Co. in Toledo has partnered with the Medical Mutual Glass City Marathon to serve as the craft beer supplier for this year's race. The brewery will make a yet-to-be-named wheat beer specifically for the competition, which takes place April 28.
The marathon also has launched a naming contest for the beer. After all the suggestions are gathered, there will be a poll open to participants and beer fans through Facebook to choose the name, brewery co-owner Paul Traver said.
"Once the beer is named and we get closer to race day, we will start serving the beer at select bars in the Toledo area to help build support for the runners in this year's race," he said. "We are really excited to be working with the Glass City Marathon this year as the craft beer supplier. We had a relay team last year and had a great time but this is an even better way for us to support a local race in its 37th year and build support for the race and all of the particpants."
