The Cleveland brewery and magazine had announced earlier this week that they would create a beer for the event and then announced the style during a Google Hangout chat and beer tasting Wednesday. They referred to the beer as "Beer Fest Beer."
"We’re going for a really good hop forward but yet lighter, real drinkable refreshing summer-type beer, I think, is what we’re shooting for with that beer," Great Lakes brewer Luke Purcell said. "It’s going to be unique to anything we’ve done here at Great Lakes. So I’m really excited about it."
The beer will be made with the brewery's hefeweizen yeast and feature wheat.
The World Beer Festival--Cleveland is June 14.
