Great Lakes Burning River Fest
The two-day Great Lakes Burning River Fest -- a fundraiser for the nonprofit Burning River Foundation -- continues from 1 to 6 p.m. today (July 24) at the Historic Coast Guard Station on Whiskey Island in Cleveland. Tickets are $10 at the gate. The event includes plenty of live music, food, vendors, environmental displays and, of course, beer. The highlight for beer drinkers is the release of a fresh batch of Christmas Ale, the popular spiced beer that is reserved for the holiday season. Wright Pils and Burning River also are available. The beers are $5 each. Be warned, though, if you're just interested in beer. The event is much more about the music and environmentally friendly displays. My father and I stopped in Saturday before the torrential rains hit. Below are some photos. For more details about the event, including a Youtube message from co-owner Pat Conway, click here.
