Great Lakes Chillwave Double IPA makes its seasonal return this week, starting tonight (Feb. 16) with a pre-release party at the Cleveland brewery.
Chillwave was a major hit with hop heads when the beer was first released last year under the name Alchemy Hour Double IPA. (The beer was re-named because of Widmer Brothers Alchemy Ale.)
Chillwave is 9.4 percent alcohol by volume and has 80 IBUs. It's one of the Great Lakes' highest rated beers on BeerAdvocate.com. Ratebeer.com also gave it an overall 99 rating out of 100.
As of Monday morning, there were still some tickets available to the pre-release party. For more details, click here. The beer also will be released on draft at the Great Lakes brewpub at 11:30 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 20), Meanwhile, bottles will go on sale at the Great Lakes gift shop at 5 p.m. Friday (Feb. 21) and the beer will hit outside markets on Feb. 24.
