Great Lakes, Deschutes to release collaboration beer
Great Lakes Brewing Co. in Cleveland is partnering with Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Ore., to make a Smoked Imperial Porter for Deschutes' Class of '88 series, which celebrates breweries that were founded 25 years ago.
Each brewery will brew its own version of the collaborative recipe, which will be available for a limited time in 22-ounce bottles and draft in May 2013, Great Lakes announced Monday. Both Great Lakes and Deschutes are known for award-winning porters: Edmund Fitzgerald Porter and Black Butte Porter.
The Class of ’88 series also involves collaborations with North Coast Brewing, Rogue Ales and Goose Island.
