The Plain Dealer reports that Hansa Import Haus broke ground Wednesday on its new store, restaurant and Slovenian brewery in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood. The effort is connected with European brewer Lasko. Hansa has acquired the recipe and rights to brew Lasko, the newspaper says.
“What happened [Wednesday] is less about business than getting people excited – both our guests from Slovenia and the people in Cleveland,” Hansa owner Boris Music told the newspaper. “Our partners were excited to see this taking place in a vibrant neighborhood like West 25th Street.”
Hansa will be the fourth brewery in Ohio City, already home to Great Lakes, Market Garden and Nano Brew.
