Mother Nature apparently forget to send the memo to Hoppin' Frog Brewery that it's danged cold outside. With temperatures expected around the single digits in northern Ohio, the Akron brewery is breaking out summer beers at its taproom.
Starting at 6 p.m. today (Jan. 21), The Tasting Room will offer Turbo Shandy Citrus Ale, Barrel Aged Turbo Shandy and Wild Frog Wheat Ale on draft. It also will sell Wild Frog Wheat and Super-Charged Saison IPA 2012 European Tour Series in 22-ounce bottles. If that weren't enough, Three Floyds Razor Hoof Saison will be available.
"Happy summer to us!!" owner and brewer Fred Karm said in an email. "Just because it's not actually summer doesn't mean we can't drink like it is," he added.
The restaurant also will offer summer food and a beershake made with Barrel Aged Turbo Shandy & vanilla. The beers will be available all week -- or until they run out.
