International Beer Fest to return in November
The International Beer Fest -- which attracted more than 9,500 people last year to the I-X Center in Cleveland -- will be combined this year with the eighth annual Fabulous Food Show and moved to the fall, organizers announced Monday. The event is scheduled for Nov. 8-10.
"The move to integrate with the Fabulous Food Show stemmed from a desire to provide more content and value to attendees – and the International Beer Fest was deemed the perfect fit," the I-X Center said in a news release.
The beer festival, which was first held in 2011, featured about 800 beers and included a judged competition. The news release makes no mention of the future size of the event or whether it will continue to judge beers and hand out medals. An I-X spokeswoman couldn't be reached for comment.
“We are combining the best assets of the International Beer Fest with the Fabulous Food Show to continue to build this event as the premier culinary celebration," Director of Events Jeremy Levine said in a prepared statement.
The I-X Center also decided to focus on one culinary event so the Spring Fabulous Food Show will not return as a stand-alone event. Tickets are anticipated to go on sale in the summer.
The International Beer Fest will be close to Brewzilla, the major beer festival held in downtown Cleveland that ends Cleveland Beer Week each year. Brewzilla is scheduled Oct. 27 and the International Beer Fest is now two weeks later.
