Jackie O's wins $10,000 grant for brewery
Jackie O's Pub & Brewery has won a $10,000 business grant from the Athens County Economic Development Council that will help launch its new production brewery, the Athens Messenger newspaper reports.
The brewpub won the "Start It Up Athens!" contest, which was designed to help a business open or expand. (See the video below.)
“With the number of students that have gone through Ohio University and the number of people who've gone through this wonderful little community of Athens, we really want to try to get a product that they’re familiar with into their hands in an area that’s not just 45701,” Jackie O's owner Art Oestrike says in the video.
