Rare Brain Studios will begin filming Lance's Brewery Tour on Thursday (June 20) at Great Lakes Brewing Co. in Cleveland. Great Lakes will donate $1 of every pint sold Thursday to support the documentary and effort by Lance Rice, an autistic man from Vermilion, to write a beer book.
The project will follow Lance on a 3,000-mile road trip as he visits breweries, meets brewers and fulfills a lifelong dream to write a book about the history and culture of American beer. The documentary will chronicle Lance’s journey as he faces his social fears and phobias and spends nearly three months away from home.
"Capturing Lance’s story is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," Rare Brain Studios President Aaron Rice, Lance's nephew, said in a prepared statement. "His dream is already changing the world and his journey hasn’t even begun."
