The Millersburg Brewing Co. in Millersburg will release its first pumpkin ale, called Pope's Imperial Pumpkin Ale, on Wednesday. (Sept. 25) The beer was brewed with 10 pounds of pumpkin per barrel.
"It also has a deep orangish-brown color with a nose of pumpkin sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla," the brewery said in an email. "As the Imperial Pumpkin Ale rolls across your tongue, you will taste the spice flavors, finishing with a slightly malty sweetness and an alcohol warmth on your palate with the lingering urge to take another sip."
The beer is 9 percent alcohol by volume and has 13 IBUs.
Pope's Pumpkin is the first of Millersburg Brewing's Imperial Series of Beers. The beer will be served in a 12-ounce goblet and there will be a limited supply.
