Mt. Carmel Brewing Co. will release its new Imperial IPA -- the latest beer in its Snapshot Series -- Thursday (May 29) at the kick off for the weekly summer concert series at Washington Park's Bluegrass Bandstand in Cincinnati.
The draft-only beer, described by the brewery as "a big 'ol citrusy, stanky beer," was made with "unhealthy amounts of Zythos, Amarillo, Columbus and Citra hop." It is 8.7 percent alcohol by volume.
"The color of something picked from a Georgia peach tree, the beer’s sticky aroma of citrus and tropical fruit give way to a complex malt body of pale, pilsner and caramel malts all forming a natural bridge to a fresh hop, orange grove, tropical euphoria," the Cincinnati brewery said in a news release.
Mt. Carmel will start pouring the beer from 7 to 10 p.m. Jake Speed & The Freddies and The Red Cedars will perform. The concerts are free to attend. Food will be available from Eli's BBQ.
Imperial IPA will be available throughout Ohio following the event. The beer is part of the brewery's Snapshot Series, which are limited release brews. Others have included Ardennes Belgian Quad and Obsidian Black Rye IPA.
