New beer festival in Canton
SunCo Entertainment, which organizes the annual Big Tap In beer festival in Boardman, will hold the first octoBREWfest Sept. 17 at the Stark County Fairgrounds in Canton. The proceeds will benefit the Alliance Firefighters Charities. The event will feature German beers, as well as seasonal, harvest, pumpkin and Octoberfest-style beers from more than 50 breweries. A special VIP event -- which costs $55 -- runs from 2 to 3 p.m. The main festival is from 3 to 6 p.m. and costs $40. Tickets go on sale July 25. The participating breweries so far are: Arcadia, The Brew Kettle, Brooklyn, Buffalo Bills, Dogfish Head, Flying Dog, Founders, Great Lakes, Harpoon, Heavy Seas, Hofbrau, Hoppin Frog, Lakefront, Leinenkugel, Main Street, Ottercreek, Pauliner, Samuel Adams, Shipyard, Southern Tier, Stoudts, Thirsty Dog, Warsteiner, Weyerbacher and Willoughby.
