New Belgium Brewing today (Oct. 14) announced it has signed deals with nine wholesale partners in Ohio to start distributing its beer across the state beginning Dec. 16.
The Fort Collins, Colo.-based brewer will launch in the Buckeye State with a mix of 22-ounce Fat Tire, Ranger IPA, Accumulation White IPA and Lips of Faith. Some draft may come online in the initial rollout, as well, the brewery said in a news release.
“We’re excited about Ohio,” New Belgium "sales co-pilot" Brian “BK” Krueger said in a prepared statement. “This has been long in the works and now that expansion projects have brought on additional capacity here in Fort Collins the time is right."
The Ohio partners -- a mix of Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors distributors -- are:
-- Heidelberg Distributing (Dayton, Toledo, Lorain and a portion of Columbus)
-- Muxie Distributing.
-- Spriggs Distributing.
New Belgium also plans to release new packaging in Ohio, pending federal approval. The new look will enter other markets in January. Ohio will be New Belgium's 35th state.
