Jordana Barrack, whose title at New Belgium Brewing Co. is coordinator of love and calenders, will serve as one of the keynote speakers April 24 at the 28th annual Ohio Employee Ownership Conference at the Hilton West in Fairlawn. The one-day event is hosted by Kent State University's Ohio Employee Ownership Center.
New Belgium, the third-largest craft brewer in the U.S., became 100 percent employee-owned in January 2013. The brewery, based in Fort Collins, Colo., entered the Ohio market last year. It has about 480 workers.
Earlier this week, New Belgium announced plans to break ground on a second brewery and tasting room in Asheville, N.C.
Karl Arnke, president and chief executive officer of the Kent-based Davey Tree Expert Co., is the other keynote speaker. The theme of this year's event is "A Wealth of Opportunity: Employee Ownership Fuels Growth."
The conference runs from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., followed by a reception. The cost is $125 in advance and $195 at the door.
