The Brew Professor reports that the Tap & Screw Brewery hopes to open in September on Cincinnati's west side. It will be a seven-barrel brewhouse with a full liquor license.
"The name is a tribute to three of Cincinnati’s great industries," the brewery says on its website. "First, it’s a play on Cincinnati Screw and Tap Company, which was the original name of Cincinnati Milacron, historically known as the preeminent machine tool manufacturer. Tap obviously refers to the huge brewing industry that flourished prior to Prohibition. Perhaps less known, Screw, short for corkscrew, is a nod to Ohio’s place as the nation’s largest wine producer before the California wine industry started."
