Vermont topped the nation last year in terms of breweries per capita, according to a new analysis by the Craft Brewers Association in Boulder, Colo. With 21 breweries in Vermont, there's a brewery for every 29,797 residents. Ohio, with 47 breweries last year, ranked 32nd with a brewery for every 245,458 residents. Ohio may creep up that list next year considering several more breweries are expected to open in the state, including the BottleHouse Brewery in Cleveland Heights, the Christian Moerlein brewpub in Cincinnati, Black Squirrel Brewing in Kent, Vitruvian Brewing Co. in Yellow Springs and Toxic Brew Co. in Dayton. Mississippi, which has only two breweries, ranked last in the Craft Brewers analysis with a brewery for every 1,483,649 residents. To see all the rankings, click here.
