SABMiller buys Foster's
A big worldwide brewer owner is getting even bigger. SABMiller has agreed to buy Foster's in Australia for $10.2 billion. It's the largest takeover since InBev bought Anheuser-Busch Cos. for $52 billion. "The deal makes stategic and financial sense for SAB," Barclays Capital analyst Simon Hales told the Bloomberg news service. "It'll be taken well even though the headline offer price is slightly more than we would have hoped." To read Bloomberg stories about the acquistion, click here and here.
