Samuel Adams seeking stein hoisters
Samuel Adams is trying to find beer drinkers who can hoist a stein the longest as part of its National Stein Hoisting Competitions, which are taking place through Oct. 15 in bars and at festivals around the country.
A male and female winner will receive a trip for two to the 2013 Oktoberfest in Munich. Participants are timed as they hoist one liter of OctoberFest in an official Samuel Adams beer stein. The arm must not be bent and must stay parallel to the floor. If you spill the beer, you're out.
There are three locations in Ohio to participate: from 9 to 10 p.m. Oct. 3 at KDB in Columbus; from 9 to 10 p.m. Oct. 5 at Molly McGhee's Sports Pub in Strongsville; and from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at Magic Tree Pub & Eatery in Boardman.
