The event will showcase 12 breweries: Portsmouth, Jackie O’s, Thirsty Dog, The Brew Kettle, New Belgium, Goose Island, Troegs, 21st Amendment, Victory, Deschutes, Samuel Adams and Bell’s. It also will feature live music and food from Buffalo Wild Wings and Portsmouth Brewing. Vicarias Cigars also will be on hand for tasting and offer rolling demonstrations.
“Food. Breweries. Music. What else do you need in life?” asked Robert Rutman, owner of The Party Connection, which is putting on the event.
The Party Connection, which offers more than 500 craft beers and 2,000 wines, has been hosting beer and wine tastings for awhile.
“They’ve been very successful,” Rutman said. “We just thought we’d take it to the next level.”
He said he'd like to make the festival an annual event and grow it beyond 12 breweries.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the gate. They include a souvenir pint glass and five tickets for 5-ounce tastings. Additional tasting tickets are $2. The proceeds benefit the Portsmouth Area Jaycees.
