Third Shift ready for Dayton release party
Dayton-area beer drinkers will get the first taste of Third Shift Amber Lager -- a new beer made by MillerCoors -- at a special launch party from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 10 at Top of the Market. There's also a VIP event that begins at 6 p.m.
The launch party is free, and you can reserve a spot by clicking here.
“Third Shift is an award-winning beer all about passion – the passion of the beer and of the Band of Brewers who created it,” Third Shift brand manager Scott Meek said in a prepared statement. “Bringing this beer to market has sparked the question of ‘What is your passion?’ and has been a catalyst to beer drinkers bonding over their own Third Shift passions.”
The Amber Lager is the first in the Third Shift series. The beer is described as "a smooth and easy drinking amber lager -- well balanced with a sweet maltiness, lightly toasted character, subtle hops and a beautiful color at 5.3 percent alcohol by volume." It's being introduced on draft in limited quantities and only in Dayton, San Francisco, Reno, Sacramento, San Antonio, Austin, Houston and Dallas.
The beer is made at a MillerCoors brewery in Fort Worth, Texas, as opposed to the MillerCoors plant in Trenton, Ohio. The Third Shift name comes from a group of MillerCoors brewers who experiment with recipes after hours at the brewery.
