West Point Market contest gets 138 beer entries

By Rick Armon Published: July 25, 2012

westpointlogoThe West Point Market in Akron received 138 entries in its Bottle My Brew Ohio Homebrew Challenge. The contest was open to all Ohio homebrewers and entries were due July 11.

The winning beer will be brewed by Thirsty Dog Brewing Co. and available in bottles and on draft at the grocery store and at Winking Lizard Tavern restaurants in Northeast Ohio.

Five judges -- including myself -- will now whittle the beers down to 10 finalists, with a final live judging held at West Point’s Halloween Craft Brew Tasting on Oct. 26. Cash and other prizes will be awarded to all 10 finalists.
