When the Akron Beacon Journal published a list of beer festivals in Ohio this year, there was one major omission. And that has beer fans wondering what happened to the International Beer Fest in Cleveland. Last year's event -- both a tasting and a juried competition for brewers -- attracted nearly 10,000 people to the I-X Center. But it's nowhere to be found on the I-X online calendar and I-X officials at first didn't respond to calls about the future of the event.
Several Ohio brewers have heard -- in the immortal words of Monty Python's John Cleese -- that the festival has ceased to be. But not so fast. The festival isn't canceled, a spokeswoman said. "It is changing." No other details were provided. Stay turned.
