The party includes live music, appetizers and Wiedemann’s Special Lager at $2 a pint. Some new Wiedemann’s beer also will be on tap.
People can sign up for the inaugural Wiedemann’s Bocce Ball Championship at www.register.wiedemannbeer.com. Play is limited to the first 16 two-person teams that sign up. The $10 entry fee goes to Pass The Hat, a Northern Kentucky nonprofit that helps women battling cancer.
The new Geo. Wiedemann Brewing Co. was founded by longtime local beer journalist and beer enthusiast Jon Newberry, and his wife Betsy. The company’s goal is to re-establish Wiedemann’s as one of the premier local beers in Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati, and eventually return the brewing operations to Newport.
The beer is now brewed by Listermann Brewing Co. in Cincinnati and by the Stevens Point Brewery in Stevens Point, Wisc.
