Yellow Springs Brewery, a new production brewery in Yellow Springs, will open its tasting room to the public at 1 p.m. April 13. Co-owner and brewer Nate Cornett said he'd like to have eight to 10 beers on draft for the grand opening. Many of those will be pilot batches, providing a sneak peak of what's to come as the brewery ramps into full production.
The brewery also hopes to have a food truck there. The tasting room will be open until 9 p.m. that first night.
Yellow Springs is still determining its regular hours, but the tasting room should be open Thursday through Sunday, with later hours on Friday and Saturday, Cornett said.
Beer drinkers may already have tasted Yellow Springs. The brewery, which has a seven-barrel brewhouse, started distributing a dry stout last week to a half-dozen accounts just in time for St. Patrick's Day. "It's pretty crazy," Cornett said. "Everybody just ate it up, man. Really good comments from the beer geeks and reviews, and the bar owners loved it. We basically sold everything we kegged."
Yellow Springs also has a brown, English bitter and saison ready to roll out soon. The brewery has ordered more kegs to handle demand, he said.
