By jcfortun Published: March 28, 2009

Top prospect Adam Miller finally received some good news Friday when the Tribe announced that his injured finger is responding to an altered grip on the baseball.

Miller, whose career was threatened by the injury, may not need surgery if his finger continues to show progress.

Here are the three stories on it:

Akron Beacon Journal - Sheldon Ocker
Plain Dealer - Paul Hoynes

And the pitching woes continue...

A day after fifth starter Scott Lewis was beaten around the ballpark, staff ace Cliff Lee took the ball for his turn. Lee allowed eight runs and 12 hits in five innings against the Giants Friday.

Although it is still spring training, Lee should be getting to the point where he is not tinkering as much and preparing himself for the opener April 6.

He should have one more spring training start before then, Hoynes wrote.

In other Indians news...
Terry Pluto took some time to watch the prospects yesterday.

Anthony Castrovince says that Josh Barfield is expected to take the 25th roster spot. the seventh bullpen spot comes down to Zach Jackson and Vinnie Chulk.
