With their sixth-round selection (203rd overall) , the Indians added INF Joseph Wendle to their 2012 draft group.
The 5-foot-11, 190-ponder from West Chester University (PA) is a National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA) First Team All-American for the 2012 NCAA Division II college baseball national champions. Wendle is also a first-team Capital One/CoSIDA Academic all-America.
During his senior season, he hit .399 with 19 doubles, nine triples, 12 home runs, 59 RBI and 64 runs scored in 56 games for West Chester. He also won the PSAC triple crown by leading the conference in batting average, home runs and RBI.
