Aeros beat Erie 5-1

Key Stats: The Aeros have outscored the SeaWolves 21-5 heading into today’s series finale.

Key Moment: The Aeros sent eight hitters to the plate in the third inning. Singles by Cristo Arnal and Jose Constanza and a two-run double by Carlos Santana highlighted the four-run inning.

Star of the game: The Bullpen. With a blister ending Graham’s day early the bullpen was pressed into action a tad earlier than expected. Steven Wright limited the SeaWolves to one hit over his 2 2/3 innings. He struck out three. Zach Putnam struck out four in his two innings and allowed two hits. Josh Judy pitched the final inning, striking out two.

Up next: The Aeros finish their four-game series against Erie at 7:05 at Canal Park. Right-hander Josh Tomlin (9-8, 4.16 ERA) will pitch for Akron, while right-hander Thad Weber (4-2, 3.56 ERA).
