Aeros' Gomez throws perfect game in Trenton
Moments after throwing his final pitch in the ninth inning and watching it settle into the glove of left fielder Matt McBride, Aeros pitcher Jeanmar Gomez braced himself.
As soon as he turned back around toward home plate, catcher Damaso Espino came hurtling toward him and tackled the right-hander at the conclusion of Akron's 3-0 victory over host Trenton Thursday afternoon.
It didn't take long before the rest of the Aeros players came sprinting out to the mound aiming for him as well, looking to congratulate Gomez on throwing the Aeros first perfect game in franchise history.
